1. Scorpio Tankers ships out MR brace for $85m. Monaco-headquartered product tanker major Scorpio Tankers is shipping out a pair of MR vessels for a total price of $85m.
The Emanuele Lauro-led firm has struck a deal for the sale of 2014-built scrubber fitted STI San Antonio and STI Texas City at $42.5m each.

2. Ambrey teams up with Chartworld to increase maritime security. Security specialists Ambrey has formed a strategic partnership with Cyprus-headquartered navigation specialist Chartworld.
This collaboration will look to enhance the safety and security of vessels worldwide by delivering real-time global security alerts directly to shipmasters through the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS).

3. Gerdes Green signs for second Damen newbuild. Germany’s Gerdes Green has signed up for another hybrid combi freighter newbuild at Dutch shipbuilder Damen. The joint venture between shortsea shipping companies Reederei Gerdes and Over-C will be adding a second 3,850 dwt general cargo vessel, jointly developed with the yard and vessel charterer Cargill.

4. Chevron Initiates Water Injection to Boost Gulf of Mexico Oil Recovery. Chevron Corporation has launched water injection operations at its Jack/St. Malo and Tahiti facilities in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico to enhance oil and natural gas recovery.
These two projects aim to maximize returns from existing resources and contribute to growing production to 300,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2026, according to Bruce Niemeyer, president of Chevron Americas Exploration & Production.

7. PD Ports celebrates 10 year logistics and warehouse contract extension with global chemical giant Venator. PD Ports is delighted to have secured a new ten-year contract with global chemical company Venator.
The new deal extends a 20-year working relationship between the two companies at Port of Hartlepool and secures 24 jobs, with PD Ports providing dedicated logistics and warehousing operations for Venator’s Greatham facility, from raw material to finished product.
