1. Maersk’s alleged LNG investment an ‘obvious detour’ from climate goals – Say No to LNG. Danish shipping major A.P. Moller-Maersk needs to honour its past commitments and immediately halt all investments in LNG, urged global shipping campaigner Say No to LNG. Say No to LNG is a global collaboration of climate advocates, which includes transportation-focused non-profits such as Transport & Environment, Opportunity Green, and Clean Arctic Alliance, among others.

2. Diana Shipping announced Time Charter Contract for m/v DSI Polaris with Stone Shipping. Diana Shipping, a global shipping company specializing in the ownership and bareboat charter-in of dry bulk vessels, announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Stone Shipping Ltd, for one of its Ultramax dry bulk vessels, the m/v DSI Polaris.

8. General average declared on Maersk Frankfurt. General average has been declared on the badly burnt Maersk Frankfurt, a brand new 5,500 teu boxship which caught fire a week ago. Once the onboard containers are discharged from the vessel at a safe location, they will not be released for on-carriage or delivery until cargo interests have made the required security arrangements through the general average adjusters, Richards Hogg Lindley.

9. Finland Suspects Russian Vessel of Territorial Violation. Finland suspects a Russian vessel violated the Nordic country’s territorial waters on Friday, the government said, in the latest incident to cloud relations between the two countries.The government said Friday’s incident took place in the eastern Gulf of Finland. “The Border Guard is investigating the incident and will provide further information as the investigation progresses,” the Finnish defence ministry said in a statement.
