1. CPKC wins best rail logistics service provider at the Asian freight and logistics awards for fourth consecutive year. Canadian Pacific Kansas City was awarded the prestigious Asian Freight and Logistics Award for Best Rail Logistics Service Provider for the fourth consecutive year after Asian shippers were balloted directly to select their best services providers.

2. MOL signs Japan’s 1st sustainability-linked lease agreement. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, announced that as part of the MOL Group’s environmental strategy, its group company MOL Chemical Tankers  signed Japan’s first sustainability-linked lease agreement with Tokyo Century Corporation  for the chemical tanker BONITA ANA.

3. Erik Thun launches the next generation Lake Vanern Max vessel. The very first of our new dry cargo vessels, the next-generation Lake Vanern Max, was launched at Scheepswerf Ferus Smit BV in Westerbroek, Netherlands. The vessel was named Lidan, and the naming ceremony was performed by Godmother Benita Skisser accompanied by representatives from the yard, MF Shipping Group and Erik Thun Group.

4. UAB-Online develops digital version of updated CDNI documentation for inland tankers. With updated CDNI documentation for European inland tanker shipping set to go in effect as of 1 July, software innovator UAB-Online has developed a digital method to help liquid bulk operators complete the attestation of unloading without errors.

5. Rocket Lab’s Electron Rocket Lands at the California Science Center. Rocket Lab USA, a global leader in launch services and space systems, has donated one of its Electron rockets to the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center expansion project.Available for public view now, Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket will be showcased temporarily at the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center Work in Progress gallery, offering a preview of new artifacts and plans for the future Air and Space Center.

6. Vitol grows LNG bunker fleet with time charter and new orders. Switzerland-based commodity trading giant Vitol has expanded its LNG bunker fleet via a time charter deal with Avenir LNG and an order for two vessels at the CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering shipyard in China.

7. MSC to equal Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd’s Gemini fleet. Gianluigi Aponte-founded Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has become the first liner to command a 20% global market share since Maersk momentarily hit such heights for a few months in early 2018. MSC is also just one megamax delivery away from becoming the first carrier in the world to operate a fleet in excess of 6m teu.

8. Russia’s New ‘Combat Icebreaker’ Heads For Sea Trials. Russia continues to push forward with the rapid renewal and expansion of its icebreaker fleet. In addition to commissioning three new nuclear icebreakers in the last four years, with three more currently under construction, Russia’s first armed combat icebreaker, Ivan Papanin, is now headed for open water factory trials.

9. Avangrid’s New England Wind Construction and Operations Plan Approved. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has given the green light to Avangrid’s New England Wind Construction and Operations Plan (COP), authorizing the construction and operation of two significant wind energy projects.

10. Adani Ports posts 12% jump in June cargo volumes; shares in red. APSEZ posted a 12 percent year-on-year (YoY) surge in cargo volumes at 37 MMT, which was led by 33 percent YoY growth in containers and 8 percent YoY rise in liquids & gas, the Adani group firm said Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) on July 2 reported a jump in its cargo volume, the firm said in a monthly business update.
