1. The elegant concert experience at Cyprus Marine Club home, featuring the BERGOS air pianist Nicoleta Savvidou On Friday, 7th June 2024, the Cyprus Marine Club (CMC) hosted an exclusive Piano Concert with the support of BERGOS. The concert followed by dinner took place at the Gazebo Mare in Limassol Marina, under the starry sky and just next to the sea.
2. WinGD, Alfa Laval, ABS and K Shipbuilding join forces for ammonia-fuelled tanker design Swiss marine power company WinGD, Swedish marine technology leader Alfa Laval and the American Bureau of Shipping will work with Korean shipbuilder K Shipbuilding  on the development of an ammonia-fuelled MR tanker design, under a memorandum of understanding signed in April. The design will feature a 6X52DF-A engine from WinGD.
3. ABS create a Hellenic Ship Safety Center, where the future of safety meets the future of learning ABS unveiled plans to create a pioneering new ship safety center in Athens harnessing the power of new immersive training techniques, game-based learning and virtual reality environments for the Greek shipping community.
4. Posidonia 2024 DNV awards AiP to HD Hyundai Mipo for new ammonia-powered container ship designs At the Posidonia trade fair, classification society DNV awarded HD Hyundai Mipo an Approval in Principle for the design of a new ammonia dual fuel feeder container vessel. The AiP is the result of a collaborative effort between HD Hyundai Mipo, WinGD, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Kangrim Heavy Industries, and DNV.

AD Ports Group and Economic Development Board of Madagascar sign MoU to explore development of ports, maritime and logistics AD Ports Group , one of the world’s leading facilitators of global trade, logistics, and industry, and the Economic Development Board of Madagascar have signed of a Memorandum of Understanding, to explore a dynamic partnership focused on bolstering commercial opportunities across maritime, industry and logistics sectors in Madagascar.
6. Scorpio Tankers clears out oldest vessels Monaco-based product tanker giant Scorpio Tankers is offloading five of its oldest MR vessels for about $179m. The Emanuele Lauro-led New York-listed firm has struck a deal with three separate buyers for the 2012-built STI Garnet, STI Onyx, STI Ruby, and STI Topaz at $142.5m in total and also agreed to the sale of the 2013-built STI Beryl for $36.6m.
7. Oceaneering scores Petrobras contract Oceaneering’s manufactured products segment has secured two contracts with Brazil’s Petrobras that are expected to deliver net revenue in the range of $120m to $183m.
The New York-listed firm has been contracted to supply up to 362 km of steel tube and thermoplastic electro-hydraulic umbilicals and associated subsea distribution hardware for use in projects offshore Brazil.
8. Baltimore Bridge Collapse: Federal Channel Fully Restored The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Diving have completed the challenging task of clearing the wreckage and restoring the channel to its original operational dimensions of 700 feet wide and 50 feet deep.
9. U.S. Imposes New Sanctions Over Illicit Houthi Oil Trade The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is imposing sanctions on ten individuals, entities, and vessels involved in illicit oil and commodity transport, including for Houthi financial facilitator Sa’id al-Jamal’s network. This is the seventh round of sanctions targeting al-Jamal’s network since October 2023.
10. Cochin is all set to become a lighthouse port for Green Hydrogen The port is exploring various project proposals for developing green hydrogen pilots. Cochin Port Authority is focussing on inviting Expressions of Interest shortly to execute a green hydrogen pilot project, which is expected to start production within a year. “Cochin Port already has existing capabilities and rich experience of handing liquid cargo, especially chemicals like ammonia. The port therefore will be in an advantageous situation to build bunkering facility for green hydrogen and its derivatives”, B Kasiviswanathan, Chairman, Cochin Port Authority said.
