2. Yang Ming publishes Q1 2023 Financial Report and approves the Procurement of LNG Dual Fuel Container Vessels. Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation held the 383rd Board meeting that passed the Q1 2023 financial report and approves the procurement of LNG dual-fuel container vessels. According to this report, the consolidated revenues in Q1 totaled NT$ 36.95 billion (US$ 1.22 billion). 3. APM Terminals pledges EUR962 million investment in Brazilian Terminals by 2026. As part of a Dutch trade delegation to Brazil this week, APM Terminals’ CEO Keith Svendsen pledged a EUR962 million investment in its Brazilian operations up to 2026. This figure includes a EUR296 million of a total EUR 483 investment exclusively for the Phase One development of a new terminal in Suape. 4. Ports of Klaipeda and Hamburg intensify cooperation. The setting could not have been better chosen. 5. Oldendorff Carriers welcomed the report on West Australia East Asia iron ore green corridor. Oldendorff Carriers has welcomed the release of a green corridor feasibility report on the West Australia – East Asia iron ore trade route, in partnership with other consortium partners including BHP, Rio Tinto, Starbulk and the Global Maritime Forum. 6. Wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa taps deugro and Amasus for pair of newbuilds in China. 7. Sweden green lights two offshore wind projects. The Swedish government has approved two offshore wind projects off the country’s west coast that will see around 100 turbines installed, totalling 1.6 GW of capacity. 8. Black Sea Grain Corridor Nearly Void of Ships as Russia’s Exit Looms. Only seven crop vessels remain in the Ukraine crop corridor as Russia threatens to exit the grain pact later this week, bringing traffic grinding to a halt.No fresh inbound ships have cleared inspection through the corridor in more than a week, after a disagreement between parties at the Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul that’s tasked with checking all boats. 9. Contractors Revise Timeline for OS 35’s Wreck Removal Off Gibraltar. Contractors have provided an updated wreck removal plan and timeline to Gibraltar’s Captain of the Port regarding the final removal of the OS 35 shipwreck. The operation will ensure the wreck is lifted safely and with minimal environmental impact. 10. Asian seafarer hubs step up to meet decarbonization challenge.
