1. Seanergy Maritime announces acquisition of a Scrubber fitted capesize vessel with immediate period employment and the sale of the two oldest vessels of the fleet

Seanergy Maritime Holdings announced the acquisition of a 2012-built Capesize vessel from a major Japanese company and the simultaneous commencement of its period employment. 3. China Shipowners’ Association joins International Chamber of Shipping

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) is pleased to welcome the China Shipowners’ Association (CSA) as a Full Member from 1 January 2023. 5. United Maritime announced completion of previously announced tanker sale and acquisition of two capesize bulkers

United Maritime, announced that it has successfully completed the delivery of the 2008-built LR2 product tanker, M/T Minoansea, to her new owners. In addition, the Company has entered into definitive agreements to acquire two Capesize vessels from Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. (“Seanergy”), a related party of the Company, for an aggregate purchase price of US$36.25 million. 8. Tesla Fan Filed Boat, Jet Trademark Without Company’s Knowledge

A self-described fan of Tesla Inc. said he was behind an application to extend the automaker’s trademark for use in boats and planes. 9. Britain Produced Record Amount Of Wind Power In 2022

Britain’s wind farms contributed a record 26.8% of the country’s electricity in 2022 although gas-fired power plants remained the biggest source of power, National Grid NG.L data showed on Friday. 10. 2022 record year for tanker derivative volumes

The derivatives market for clean and dirty tankers saw increased traded volumes in 2022, according to data released by the Baltic Exchange. Tanker Forward Freight Agreement (FFA) volumes hit 734,972 lots, up 33% on 2021. Dry Forward Freight Agreement (FFA) volumes reached 2,218,249 lots, down 12% on 2021. Handysize volumes continued to grow following changes implemented to the Baltic Exchange’s Handysize Index in 2020.
