The First Ship Registry of the World and the shipping giant of tankers Euronav Ship Management , dedicated to the maritime transport and storage of crude oil, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the purpose of promoting opportunities for Panamanian seafarers aboard Euronav ships.

6. Seadrill to acquire Aquadrill in $958m all-stock deal

New York and Oslo-listed offshore driller Seadrill has struck a deal to buy Aquadrill in an all-stock deal that values the UK-headquartered rig owner at $958m. 7. ONE to Acquire Three U.S. West Coast Container Terminals

ONE has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 51% stake in each of TraPac LLC and Yusen Terminals LLC from Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), respectively. TraPac operates the TraPac Los Angeles container terminal at the Port of Los Angeles and a second container terminal at the Port of Oakland. 8. US Goods-Trade Deficit Narrows to Smallest in Nearly Two Years

The US merchandise-trade deficit narrowed in November to the smallest since December 2020 due to a plunge in imports. The shortfall decreased 15.6% — the most since 2009 — to $83.3 billion last month, Commerce Department data showed Tuesday. 10. Port of Berbera, Dubai invests in Horn of Africa shipping

The two new cranes towering over a huge cargo ship are tall enough to reach even the highest of the containers that are stacked up five on top of each other.
