3. NYK Tokyo Container Terminal begins operations of Four State-of-the-Art Transfer Cranes
NYK Line and UNI-X NCT Corporation have begun operation of four state-of-the-art transfer cranes developed by Mitsui E & S Machinery Co., Ltd. 4. Traffic along Rhine further hindered after vessel’s engine failure
Traffic along the river Rhine, impeded by low water levels, was hindered further on Wednesday after a vessel’s engine failure closed part of the waterway, said the river police, according to Reuters. A vessel with a 1,660-ton load was forced to drop anchor in the waterway due to an engine failure, closing traffic between St Goar and Oberwesel. 5. Military Sealift Command Ship Completes Maintenance at Indian Shipyard
A U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC) ship completed a short maintenance period at a shipyard in India, marking the first such job since the U.S. and India agreed to use Indian shipyards for the repair and maintenance of MSC ships in the Indo-Pacific Region.

6. SC Ports Completes Years-Long Infrastructre Project at Port of Charleston
South Carolina Ports is marking the completion of its years-long infrastructure project as its fifteenth and final ship-to-shore crane is now operational at the Port of Charleston’sWando Welch Terminal.
The fifteen new ship-to-shore cranes have 155 feet of lift height and the ability to reach out over 22 containers to work the biggest ships calling the U.S. East Coast. 8. Hundreds of boxes damaged in latest containership blaze off Colombo
Reports have emerged of another sizeable fire onboard a boxship. Insurance firm WK Webster carries news of a fire on the 8,586 teu Zim Charleston 10 days ago in the Indian Ocean. 9. Baltic index ticks up as capesizes snap 4-day losing streak
The Baltic Exchange’s main sea freight index rose on Wednesday as capesize vessel rates snapped a four-session long losing streak. 10. BW LNG names two new modern LNG carriers
