Annual General Meeting and 5th International Ship Owning and Ship Management Summit Notice
We are delighted to advise that InterManager’s AGM will be held in London on the 16th of October (two months notice).
We are very pleased to inform that it will be organized in Willis Towers Watson Headquarters in London 51 Lime Street, directly opposite Lloyd’s in the heart of the financial mile, in close cooperation with Willis Watson.
Please watch out for detailed agenda.

Eleventh Meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of the Whole on the Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment, including Socioeconomic Aspects at United Nations Headquarters in New York, 23-24 August. – George Hoyt represented InterManager and here is short report:
- We completed the 7 pages document of recommendations to the seventy-third session of the General Assembly. (available on request)
- The initial focus of the project was on scientists and policy makers.
- After discussions, (over the last 3 working group meetings), Committee agreed with InterManager to add “general public” to our recommendations to the General Assembly, in paragraph “f” on page 1.
- This opens the door for possibly creating a guide that can be shared with seafarers, and programs for Adopt A Ship.
- We are working on the 2nd world Ocean assessment. The goal is to make it 1/3rd the size of the 1,000 page first assessment and to make it much more “user friendly”.
- We will have 6 small workshops (less than 20 people from the “pool of experts”), at various locations, before the next meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of the Whole at UN HQ in New York in late January 2019.
- I asked them to try to make a one sentence summary of each subject in the new assessment. They will make short summaries of each chapter, and try to also include a sentence that we may be able to give to teachers (and others) who want to use the 2nd assessment in Adopt A Ship or other programs for students of all ages.
- I may be invited to participate in some of the small workshops to discuss importance of “dissemination” of their work to a wider audience.
- They completed initial changes to the web site which makes that more user friendly.
