Dispatches No. 401

Dear Readers – please see below Invitation from IMO received by your permanent IMO representative:

Dear Captain McKnight,

I hope this email finds you well and that you are enjoying this lovely summer!

As you know, each year, IMO celebrates World Maritime Day at its Headquarters marking the year’s theme, on this occasion “IMO 70: Our Heritage – Better Shipping for a Better Future”. Following the success of last year’s initiative, the Organization is planning to open its doors to the maritime community again in an Organized Visit, prior to the traditional diplomatic reception. The aim is to give an opportunity to the maritime community, who do not have direct access to the Organization, to visit us and gain a deeper understanding about the work of IMO.

In this regard, we would like to ask you whether your Organization would be willing to collaborate with us on this event by providing a list of up to 10 guests (including full names, job titles and organizations), preferably with different ranks and backgrounds, to participate in this activity. Kindly note however that guests would need to fund their own trip and accommodation.

Please find below a draft programme for this activity:
