Wallem Group has launched Wallem Maritime Services Shenzhen in mainland China.
The group received a licence from Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration of China to directly allocate Chinese seafarers to ships under Wallem Ship Management.
As such, Wallem has become the sole foreign shipping firm to fully own a manning agency operation in the country.
The company provides Chinese seafarers to clients worldwide and has seen 65 ships fully staffed by Chinese personnel, including a core of experienced officers serving on a number of vessels across the globe.
To ensure these seafarers have the necessary skills to handle ship operations, Wallem Training Centre in Qingdao has a cadet programme in place which includes a new crewing license certification.
Wallem Group engages in the businesses of shipmanagement, ship agency, ship broking, commercial vessel management and freight and logistics and is headquartered in Hong Kong.
