Our information regarding MLC Ratification was indeed misleading – with recent ratification we are one Country short and it looks like 2012 will indeed see 30 countries meaning full ratification 12 months later i.e. 2013 – thank you to all of you have spotted my mistake.

Potential Problems in Italian Ports

Following the issue of Italian Circular N. 214/2011, (together with the application Decree Law 231/2007) there has been a problem related to the Cash to Masters above the threshold of Euros 2.500, further clarification sought by the local agents backfired as the peculiar situation represented by Cash on Board instead of seeing confirmation and common sense interpretation, resulted in confirmation that all cash transfers above EURO 1.000 could not be done, without risking a fine for both Vessel Agent and Master

InterManager is waiting for English Translation of Circular 214/2011 and 231/2007 – members however should bear in mind potential problems.
