InterManager President Alastair Evitt has been appointed to the role of Vice Chair of the international Save Our Seafarers campaign (SOS).
Save Our Seafarers was established in March 2011 and is one of the biggest ever maritime industry groupings, comprising 30 organisations that have joined together to raise awareness of the human and economic cost of piracy.
The campaign has gained support worldwide for its call for unified action to raise awareness of the human and economic cost of piracy and its call for greater protection for seafarers.
Giles Heimann, Secretary General of International Maritime Employers’ Committee said: “Alastair is certainly a strong advocate of the campaign mission and I feel very happy that he is prepared to give his time generously to help drive the campaign forward.”
