The new International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code (Res. MSC.268(85), dated 04 December 2008 was adopted at the 85th session of MSC. This will come into force on 01 Jan 2011, is voluntary from 01 Jan 2009 and supercedes the Code of Safe Practice for Solid Bulk Cargoes, 2004, MSC 193(79).
