To encourage young people to investigate a little about the maritime and marine sector, Sea Vision, in partnership with the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), is running a photographic competition during the current school term, ”Picture This”. Entry is simply by uploading a photo to the Sea Vision competition site (http://www.seavision.org.uk/competitions/picturethis) which captures your take on Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. There are 2 categories for students – 11 to 14 and 15 to 18, and a further category for all who already work in the maritime/marine. A Nexus tablet will be awarded to the winner of each category. Entrants don’t need to be camera whizzes – mobile, tablet or camera will do the job fine, the judging factor being the choice of subject matter as opposed to photographic quality!
So why not share a photo or two of your professional world – who knows, it might be the trigger that attracts the interest of a future employee or colleague! And do share this with all your colleagues – the more the merrier. The competition closes on 20 December 2013 and you can enter as many photographs as you like. Entries will be posted on facebook and twitter to help tell the excellent story of our sector to tomorrow’s workforce. So please do your bit by entering – Good Luck!
